What is the difference between bulk billng and mixed billing?

Summary of fees

Mixed billing is similar to bulk billing in that we invoice Medicare directly for your treatment on your behalf. The gap payments are outlined below if there is one that applies to you.

At Maple Tree Psychology, we are committed to making quality mental health care accessible and transparent. We currently accept referrals under the following programs:

  • In-person 50 minute session: $51 gap fee.
  • Phone or Zoom 50 minute session: $75 gap fee.
  • If covered by NDIS, there is no gap fee.
  • If covered by WorkCover, there is no gap fee.
  • If covered by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), there is no gap fee.
  • No referral or no coverage: $220 per 50 minute session.

Mixed Billing 

In the interests of providing compassionate and attentive consultations for our clients, we no longer offer bulk-billed services.

Instead, we offer mixed billing for clients who provide a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral letter from their GP. In these cases, a $51 gap fee applies per session.

Clients are also welcome to attend privately without a GP referral.

Cancellation Policy

To enable us to continue offering a high-quality service, we have a strict cancellation policy.

48 hours minimum (excluding weekends or holidays) is required.

A $220.00 fee applies for changes or cancellations less than 48 hours notice or failure to attend.

Determining which excuses are acceptable vs not acceptable is extremely time consuming, draining and frustrating. To deliver a quality service Daniel has no other choice but adopt a no exceptions policy.
