We offer mixed billing and we can accept a referral from a GP even if it is for a different psychologist.

What is the difference between bulk billing and mixed billing?

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

How we can help

PTSD is not about deleting or erasing a traumatic memory. The brain doesn’t work that way. Instead, trauma counselling focuses on helping you face and talk about the memories so you can move forward with a better quality of life.

When traumatic memories are repressed, they tend to fester. Over time, they will turn into emotional and physical “poison” which is worse. Anxiety, depression, anger, irritability, tension, sleep disturbance, and a general sense of overwhelm are often the result seriously affecting your quality of life.

Simply put – avoiding the trauma is more hurtful and damaging in the end.

Talking about your trauma in a structured, organised and safe manner reduces the ‘poison’, bringing a sense of empowerment.

A traumatic event cannot be deleted, but the emotional toxicity that builds around it can be reduced.

Processing the trauma helps you move beyond the pain, so the trauma no longer has the same disruptive impact on your life.
